MATE4MEAT presented at Biotech 2026, University of Verona
Developing bio-based packaging that keeps meat fresh and safe, without the environmental burden of conventional plastics, is the challenge at the heart of MATE4MEAT.
At Biotech 2026, the Italian Congress of Biotechnology held at the University of Verona (24–26 June 2026), project coordinator UNINA presented MATE4MEAT to the biotechnology community, offering an in-depth look at the project’s work on active, antimicrobial and recyclable packaging solutions.
With sessions spanning food, industrial and environmental biotechnology, the congress provided a fitting platform to share the project’s progress and to connect its research with the stakeholders who can drive real-world uptake. We extend our thanks to the Italian Society of Biotechnology (SIB) and the organisers for a valuable exchange.
